HidayahHub
Questions and answers
The things people ask us most, answered plainly.
Getting started
Is HidayahHub free?
Yes, the app is free to download and the features described on this site are free to use. If an optional paid extra is ever offered, it will be clearly marked and never needed for your prayers.
Do I need an account?
No. You can use the app as a guest for as long as you like. An account only adds a backup, so your records can move to a new phone. Read more on the privacy first page.
Which phones does it work on?
Android phones first, through Google Play. An iPhone version is planned and this site will say so when it is ready.
Which languages is the app in?
English and Arabic today, with the whole layout turning right to left in Arabic.
Prayer times and alerts
How are the prayer times worked out?
From your city and a calculation method chosen for your region. Times can differ by a minute or two from your local mosque. Where they differ, follow your mosque.
Will the alert always ring on time?
The alerts are set on your own phone and usually ring on time, but a phone can delay or silence them to save battery. Please do not rely on an alert alone for a prayer.
Does the app need my location?
No. You can allow an approximate location, or simply pick your city by hand.
Qaza and religious content
Is the Qaza number a religious ruling?
No. It is an estimate that helps you organise your make-up prayers, worked out from the dates and settings you give. It is not a fatwa. For a ruling on your own situation, ask a qualified scholar.
Where do the Quran text and the hadith come from?
From named, verified sources. Each text is entered with its source and checked by a second person before it appears in the app. The app never writes religious text by itself.
I found a mistake. What should I do?
Please tell us through the contact page, with where you saw it and what your source says. Corrections are checked and fixed as a priority.
Your data
Where are my prayer records kept?
On your own phone. If you choose to create an account and switch on backup, a copy is kept on our server so it can be restored to your devices.
Are there ads or trackers?
No. There are no ads, no trackers and no analytics.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, open More, then Account, then Delete account. The steps and what is removed are on the delete your account page.

Private by design
HidayahHub works fully as a guest. Your prayer records stay encrypted on your phone. An account exists only if you want backup across devices, and you can export or delete everything, any time.
