1 – Never leave the remembrance of Allah.

Allah’s promise:

“فَاذْكُرُونِي أَذْكُرْكُمْ”

Translation: “Remember Me; I will remember you.” (Al-Baqarah: 152)

Allah Himself is inviting us to remember Him, and in return He will remember us.

Think! Who could be more fortunate than a servant whom Allah remembers?

Allah’s promise:

“لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ”“”.

Translation: “If you are grateful, I will surely increase you.” (Ibrahim: 7)

Allah Almighty is telling us in clear words that the reward for gratitude will increase.

What does gratitude mean?

1. To acknowledge with the heart that this blessing is from Allah

2. To say with the tongue, “Alhamdulillah”

3. To show with action: to use the blessing according to the will of Allah

Signs of a grateful person:

Always has a positive attitude.

Focusses on the blessings rather than the deprivations.

Is humble and modest

“Allah gives the example of a township that was in blessings, but when they were ungrateful, Allah seized them with hunger and fear.”

2. When you get something new, immediately say “Masha’Allah” and “Shukr Alhamdulillah”.

4. Express gratitude with your words, behaviour, wealth, time, and everything.

 

3 – Never give up on prayer.

Allah’s promise:

“ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ”

Translation: “Call upon Me; I will respond to you.” (Al-Mu’min: 60)

This message is a direct invitation from Allah. We should all respond to this invitation.

>Prayer is a means of connecting with Allah

Allah’s promise:

Translation: “Allah would not punish them as long as they seek forgiveness.” (Anfal: 33)

Spiritual benefits of seeking forgiveness:

Forgiveness of sins

Purification of the heart

Closeness to Allah

Acceptance of repentance

Opening the door of salvation

A means of increasing sustenance:

Noah (peace be upon him) instructed his people:

“Seek forgiveness from your Lord, for He is Oft-Forgiving. He sends down from the sky upon you a rain, and He provides you with wealth and children, and He makes gardens for you, and He makes rivers for you.” (Noah: 10-12)

The Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him):

He (peace be upon him) used to seek forgiveness seventy to one hundred times a day.

Words of Istighfar:

Istighfar Allahu Rabi min kul dhanu wa atup ilahi

Allahumma aghfir li wa arhamni

Allahumma anta rabbi la ilaha illallah illa anta khalktani … (Sayyid al-Istighfar)
