Peace of mind is only in the remembrance of Allah.
“ุฃูููุง ุจูุฐูููุฑู ุงูููููู ุชูุทูู ูุฆูููู ุงูููููููุจู”
(Surah Ar-Ra’d: 28)
Translation: “Indeed, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find peace.”
Every person in the world, whether rich or poor, educated or uneducated, healthy or sick, is looking for one thing: peace of mind.
Each of us wants to have a moment in which the heart is satisfied, the mind is calm, and the soul is at ease. But we often look for peace in places where it does not exist.
Sometimes we seek peace in wealth, sometimes in fame, sometimes in relationships, and sometimes in the world of social media. But the Quran gives us a simple and clear message: Peace of mind is only in the remembrance of Allah.
“In the remembrance of Allah do hearts find peace.”
๐ธ What is dhikr?
Dhikr is not just saying “Subhan Allah,” “Alhamdulillah,” or “Allahu Akbar” with the tongue.
Dhikr means remembering Allah with the heart in every situation, in every circumstance.
When the heart is connected to the remembrance of Allah, when we make our life decisions with Allah’s pleasure in mind, when our heart calls upon the Lord before going to sleep and after waking up โ then this is the real dhikr. Peace of mind is only in the remembrance of Allah.
Peace of mind is only in the remembrance of Allah.
๐ง๏ธ Dhikr and Trials
Most people say
“We pray, but peace does not come.”
But have we asked ourselves whether we remember Allah only in times of need?
Dhikr is a soft, peaceful relationship between a person and his Lord.
When this relationship is strong, a person does not feel nervous even in trials. His heart remains content because he knows
“Everything is in the control of my Lord, and He never leaves me alone.”
Peace of mind is only in the remembrance of Allah.
๐ท The journey of heart change
Dhikr of Allah softens the heart, protects from sins, and leads a person to his true purpose in life.
Remembrance brings a wealth of certainty, patience, and contentment. Man stops running after the perishable things of the world and turns towards Allah.
๐ Remembrance in daily life
We can continue to remember Allah through small deeds in our daily life:
Say upon waking up in the morning: “Alhamdulillah, Al-Dhi Hiyana, Baad Ma Amata Na Wa Ilaah An-Nushru.”
Recite Tasbeeh after prayer.
Say while walking, “La ilaha illallah” and “Istighfarullah.”
Recite Surah Ikhlas, Falaq, Nas, and Ayatul Kursi at night before going to bed.
Recite a page of the Holy Quran in your free time.
๐งโโ๏ธ Where is peace?
We think that peace is in achieving itโfor example, if such and such a thing is found or a problem is solved.
But the truth is that peace is not in achieving something but in establishing a relationship with Allah.
When a person becomes close to Allah, every trouble in the world seems small.
In every trial, he sees the mercy of the Lord and feels the light in every tear of his eye.
Peace of mind is only in the remembrance of Allah.
๐ค Today’s action
Take just five minutes today.
Sit quietly, turn off your mobile, and recite from your heart:
“Astaghfirullah wa atutub ilaiya.”
(I seek forgiveness from Allah and turn to Him.)
Then see how light the heart becomes, how peaceful it feels โ God willing.
May Allah Almighty include us among those who remember Him. Amen, O Lord of the Worlds.
Peace is not outside โ peace is within our hearts; it just needs to be awakened by the remembrance of Allah.ย ย Peace of mind is only in the remembrance of Allah.
