Why worry all the time?

The feeling of life’s troubles, sorrows, and sins sometimes leads us to despair. We feel ourselves surrounded by the most trials in the world. The thought comes to our hearts that if we die today, what face will we show to Allah? This is a very important question that forces us to review our lives.

Despair is forbidden!

First of all, it is important to understand that despair is strictly prohibited in Islam. Allah Almighty says:

“And do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, only the disbelievers despair of the mercy of Allah.” (Yusuf: 87)

This verse gives us hope that no matter how many our sins are, Allah’s mercy is much wider than them. We should try to correct our mistakes and follow the righteous path and not lead ourselves to destruction in despair. If we die today, what face will we show to Allah?

Why do troubles occur?

Difficulties and trials come in our lives, but we need to know that they are all tests from Allah. Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran:

“And we will surely test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives, and fruits, and give good news to the patient.” (Al-Baqarah: 155)

This verse makes it clear that troubles and difficulties are a part of life. Their purpose is to bring us closer to Allah and strengthen our faith.

What face will we show to Allah?

This question forces us to reflect on our lives. If we were to die today, would we be fully prepared? Have we accounted for our deeds? It is important to consider the following points:

1. Repent of sins.

Allah Almighty is very merciful and forgiving. If we repent sincerely, Allah can forgive all our sins. The hadith states:

“Whoever repents sincerely, Allah will forgive him all his sins as if he was sinless on the day he was born.” (Tirmidhi)

So, ask Allah for forgiveness today and intend to do good deeds in the future.

2. Connect prayer with the Quran.

Prayer is the pillar of religion, and it brings us closer to Allah. Whoever prays, he becomes worthy of Allah’s mercy. Similarly, reciting the Quran brings peace to hearts and becomes a source of guidance for us.

Allah Almighty says in the Quran:

“Indeed, this Quran guides to the straightest path.” (Bani Israel: 9)

If we make it a habit to read the Quran daily and reflect on it, our hearts will be blessed with peace and guidance.

3. Do good deeds.

Good deeds not only erase our sins but also lead us to success in the Hereafter. The Hadith states:

“Repel evil with good deeds, for good deeds wipe out sins.” (Tirmidhi)

If we engage in good deeds, such as giving charity, helping people, adopting good manners, and making things easy for others, our lives will improve. If we die today, what face will we show to Allah?

The Blessings of Repentance and Istighfar

Repentance and Istighfar are not only for the forgiveness of sins but also for the good of this world and the Hereafter. The Quran states:

“And ask forgiveness (from your Lord). Indeed, He is Oft-Forgiving. He will send down rain from the sky for you in abundance and will bestow on you wealth and children and will cause gardens to grow for you and will cause rivers to flow for you.” (Noah: 10-12)

These verses tell us that seeking forgiveness not only forgives sins but also brings blessings and ease in life.

Give up despair and hope.

We should never despair of Allah’s mercy. Allah Almighty says:

“Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Al-Zumar: 53)

This verse gives us hope that if we turn to Allah even today, He can forgive all our sins.

Recognize the reality of the world.

This world is temporary, and we must prepare for the Hereafter. We get so lost in the love of the world that we forget the Hereafter, although the Quran has repeatedly reminded us:

“The life of this world is only a play and a spectacle, and in reality, the home of the Hereafter is the real life, if they only knew.” (Al-Ankabut: 64)

Therefore, instead of getting involved in the colors of the world, we should worry about our Hereafter and pay attention to the correctness of our actions.

If we die today, what face will we show to Allah?

Conclusion

If we remain worried and immersed in our despair, we can ruin our Hereafter. We should trust in Allah’s mercy, repent, do good deeds, and have a strong connection with religion.

We should think every moment that if our life were to end today, would we be in the best position before Allah? If the answer is ‘no,’ then we should correct our actions today.

May Allah Almighty guide us to improve our lives, avoid sins, and achieve success in the Hereafter. Amen.
