The importance of prayer and its punishment on the Day of Judgment

Today, there is a common misconception that the rights of the people are more important, and there is no harm in abandoning prayer because Allah will forgive it. However, the reality is the opposite. Nowhere in the Quran and Hadith is there the idea that prayer should be neglected and Allah will forgive it. Rather, abandoning prayer is among the major sins that lead to being taken to Hell.

Questions from the Hellfire and their answers:

In Surah Al-Muddathir, Allah Almighty says:

فِیۡ جَنّٰتٍ ۟ ؕ ۛ یَتَسَآءَلُوۡنَ ﴿۴۰﴾ۙ مَا سَلَکَکُمۡ فِیۡ سَقَرَ ﴿۴۲﴾ قَالُوۡا لَمۡ نَکُ مِنَ الۡمُصَلِّیۡنَ ﴿ۙ۴۳﴾

That they will ask the sinners in Paradise (while sitting), what brought you to Hell? They will answer, we were not worshippers.

This verse clearly states that abandoning prayer will cause great destruction for a person on the Day of Judgement. Those who abandon prayer are destroying their Hereafter.

Are the rights of the servants essential or prayer?

Thinking that the rights of the servants are more important and that prayer will be forgiven by Allah is completely wrong. Prayer is the pillar of prayer and cannot be abandoned under any circumstances. If we want success in this world and the Hereafter, then prayer must be made an integral part of our lives. We pray to Allah to make us adherents of prayer and protect us from hell. Amen.
