Where does everyone get guidance?

Guidance is a great blessing that is not available to everyone. It is only for those fortunate people whom Allah Almighty bestows with His special mercy. It is the grace of Allah that He chooses someone to serve His religion, and then that person feels a strange light within himself that provides peace to both the heart and the soul. Attaining Guidance—A Special Blessing:

Allah Almighty has given every human being the ability to think, understand, and judge, but guidance is achieved only by the one in whose heart the love of Allah awakens. Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran:

“Whomever Allah guides, he is the one who is guided, and whomever He leaves astray, then such are the losers.” (Al-A’raf: 178)

This verse makes us understand that guidance is not achieved merely by our own efforts but by the grace of Allah. When Allah guides a servant to the path of guidance, he prefers the Hereafter to worldly things; his heart is filled with piety and fear of Allah. He makes the purpose of his life solely to please Allah and follow His commands. Where does everyone get guidance?

Deprivation of guidance—the biggest misfortune:

Those who are deprived of guidance get lost in worldly pleasures. Their hearts become hard, and they do not care about the Hereafter. Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran:

“And We have set a seal on their hearts and their hearing, and We have put a veil on their eyes so they do not receive guidance.” (Al-Kahf: 57)

This verse warns us that if we do not value guidance, Allah may leave us astray. Therefore, it is important that we value the guidance that Allah has given us and act upon it.
